Founded in summer 2017, when three passionate musicians from three different countries met in conservatorium van Amsterdam.
Why Lefko trio? In Greek Lefkó means white colour which for members of the ensemble symbolises a blank sheet of music - there is no original composition written for this unusual setting.
These artists are looking for a new approach of the classical chamber music trios, giving an unique mixture of sounds for the pieces composed in the past. At the same time they want to expand saxophone literature, giving an opportunity for composers of our times to write music for this new formation.
Here you can find the latest recordings of the ensemble. Enjoy!
